CITIZEN SCIENCE LEARNING DAY

Updated: Mar 14, 2023

Hands On! SAT 18 MARCH 2023

A citizen science learning day that will enable participants to think about undertaking their own restorative projects in the waterways of Byron Bay, particularly our ICOLLs. They will learn about these local ecosystems and their importance in absorbing blue carbon to combat climate warming. Starting at the Byron Wetlands Center and finishing at Tallow Creek, you will learn so much - scientific knowledge and indigenous understandings of our local water places. The event will be a hands-on, on the ground introduction to some of the skills required to understand, assess, preserve and restore these water places.

This event has been supported by the Northern Rivers Community Foundation.

Byron Coastal & ICOLL Centre acknowledges the traditional custodians of Arakwal Country and the Bundjalung Nation, and their connections to land, sea and community.

We pay our respect to their elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander peoples today.
